On Monday, December 5, 2011, the Interdenominational Theological Center received notice from the Southern Association of Schools and Colleges Commission on Colleges that accreditation of the Center has been placed on warning status. This means that the Center remains accredited,  however a monitoring report must be submitted by September 2012.

The warning will have no impact on the Center’s students or their education at ITC. ITC students will continue to receive an excellent education.

Warning is a public sanction imposed by the Commission on Colleges following determination of non-compliance with an aspect of the Core Requirements, Comprehensive Standards or the Federal Requirements of the Principles of Accreditation of the Commission. This could include failure to make timely and significant progress towards correcting deficiencies that led to the finding of non-compliance, or failure to comply with Commission policies and procedures. The maximum total time during one monitoring period that an institution may be on warning status is two years.

 “I anticipate that we will resolve all issues with regard to compliance before ITC’s next scheduled review,” said Dr. Ronald E. Peters, president of ITC.
